The Journal of Desa Indonesia Institute (JDII) is an open-access, peer-reviewed scientific journal, published by Desa Indonesia Institute, a leading institution dedicated to advancing rural empowerment in Indonesia. Aims and Scope

JDII aims to provide high-quality publications that foster knowledge exchange and practical solutions in the field of rural and village studies. The journal welcomes interdisciplinary contributions from scholars, practitioners, policymakers, and development stakeholders, with a particular emphasis on:

  • Village Empowerment & Governance: training, capacity building, entrepreneurship, and sustainable management of Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes).

  • Community-Based Economy & Cooperatives: development of cooperative models, financial inclusion, and rural business innovation.

  • Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Multi-Sector Partnerships: strategies for inclusive growth through public-private-community collaboration.

  • Natural Resources and Sustainability: participatory resource mapping, environmental stewardship, and sustainable rural livelihoods.

  • Digital Transformation and Rural Innovation: village digitalisation, e-commerce, and the role of technology in local economic development.

  • Peer Review: All submissions undergo a rigorous double-blind peer review process to ensure originality, quality, and relevance.

  • Publication Frequency: JDII is published twice a year (June and December).

  • Open Access Policy: This journal adopts a full/gold open-access model, allowing all content to be freely read, downloaded, and distributed without subscription barriers.

  • Language: Articles may be submitted in English or Bahasa Indonesia, with abstracts provided in both languages to ensure wider readership.
